Meet the Editor
Here is a brief description of myself:
My name is Laura Zaccagnini (bit of a mouthful I know!) and I am a third year student at Cardiff University. I am actually doing a degree in Communications but only discovered this year that I could take a couple of journalism modules. I have now found my calling! After I graduate, I am planning on travelling to Bolivia with a voluntary organisation. There I will work as a journalist on the English newspaper 'The Bolivian Times'. I am very excited about this as I really cannot handle the prospect of starting a full time career at the age of 21. I plan to travel everywhere and gain as much worldy experience as possible. My reviews will not be specialist subjects so if anyone has any ideas on activities I should try, then email me (nothing rude please!)

Dazed & Confused and Topshop Present 'Re:Creation' - A National Tour and Award Initiative……………….

Award Initiative
Keeping with tradition, Dazed has joined forces with Topshop once again in their hunt for the design, photography, fashion, film, journalism and music stars of tomorrow.

Judged by an internationally celebrated industry panel, alongside Dazed’s own team of experts, the winners will be awarded with an individually tailored prize designed to give them the best possible kick start to a career in the industry – from equipment and training, to professional commissions and international exposure.

So, if you consider yourself a creative force – this is your call to arms…. If you’re 26 or under and a UK citizen who believes you have what it takes to make it big, simply purchase a copy of the magazine for an award form or go to www.confused.co.uk to download one and send us examples of our work before January 12th 2004.

Tour
To support the Award Initiative, Dazed will also be embarking on a 7 city of the UK, travelling further than ever in search of young creative talent. Beginning in Leeds, the tour will go to Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham, Birmingham and Edinburgh, finally arriving in Glasgow on the 21st November. In each city, re:creation will hold seminars chaired by high profile speakers from the fields of fashion, film, photography, journalism, design and music. The speakers will be on hand to teach new dogs old tricks, offering informal advice to young people looking to embark on a creative career path.
